Jovanni started doing locs in 2014 when she became a certified sisterlocks ™ consultant that year. She started this as a means to help African American women fight the negative stereo types and Eurocentric standards of beauty that oppress women of color. Starting your Locs
Starting your Mpenzi locs starts with a consultation. In this consultation we will go over your natural hair care history, how to take care of your Mpenzi locs including maintenance, what not to do, the pricing, and lastly what you can expect on your locing day. Maintaining Locs
Having Mpenzi locs is low maintenance, but not a no maintenance hair style. For the first 6 months of your Mpenzi locing journey it is mandatory that you get your Mpenzi locs maintained on a 4-6 weeks’ schedule to ensure the health of your Mpenzi locs. The current price of maintaining your locs at a 4-week rate is 100$. At 5 weeks the price is 120$ and at 6 Weeks the price is 140$. 7 weeks and up is at the discretion…read more.
